BOSTON UNIVERSITY CALLS ITS FACULTY TO INNOVATE

Fostering classroom teaching methods for a tech-savvy generation.

Design for a Small Planet

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Provost’s new Digital Learning & Innovation organization wanted to persuade Boston University’s 17 college deans, their department chairs, and more than 4,000 faculty to experiment with evolving best practices in classroom education. With a clean, sparse, and easily navigated brochure, Design for a Small Planet created a compelling look and feel for the group as a whole and for each of its five support units. The oversized booklet deployed color, imagery, taglines, and pithy explanations of how faculty could “Thrive” by taking advantage of DL&I’s in-house expertise. This appealing framework was carried over into a new website, event promotions, emails, master slide template, and an Annual Report. Project Direction and Copywriting, Janet Smith.
